The Full range Coaxial speakers can be 1 way (or even 2 way using a matching crossover) – but must be a single coaxial driver
More on the Voight Pipe Speaker cabinet project: The port at the bottom is not a BASS reflex port. The tapered transmission line effect is more akin to a pipe organ reverberation that excites bass waves in the room.

For deep Bass this cabinet is best suited to rooms greater than 5 metres in at least one direction – to accomodate excitation of the physically longer Bass frequency wavelengths.
